401(k) Beneficiary Change/Update
Has your situation changed? If you’ve gotten married or divorced or had a child, your beneficiary information could be out of date. It is very important to keep this information current. If your beneficiary information is incomplete or incorrect, people you care about could have difficulty claiming assets that you wanted them to have.
More Control In Dividing Your Assets
When determining the percentage to designate for each of your beneficiaries, you can allocate percentages out to two decimal places. This is helpful if you have an odd number of beneficiaries whom you wish to benefit equally. For example, you can divide your assets among three beneficiaries as follows: 33.33%, 33.33%, and 33.34%.
