Employees Exceed 2008 YWCA Fundraising Goal

April 25, 2008 | 11:30 a.m. CDT

Union Pacific employees contributed more than $58,600 to this year's Omaha YWCA annual fund drive, exceeding goal by $3,000. The amount equals a full 21 percent of the annual drive.

"UP is YWCA's largest corporate donor. Thanks to our employees' support during the last 19 years, the YWCA continues providing the prevention and life-saving programs necessary for women and children in critical need," said Jack Koraleski, executive vice president-Marketing & Sales and executive chair of the 2008 YWCA Drive.

Employees' fundraising efforts – which began in November and ended in April – included bake sales, prize raffles, pot lucks and monetary donations.

Aiding victims of rape, domestic violence, sexual assault and sexual-child abuse, the YWCA is Omaha's oldest and largest women's organization. It provides services for more than 80,000 women, youths and families each year. Get involved with next year's drive by visiting Union Pacific YWCA, or visit YWCA 2008 Fund Drive to donate. Matching funds through FFEG are also available.
