UP Named a Top 50 Place to Intern
December 18, 2008 | 03:20 p.m. CST
BusinessWeek recently named Union Pacific one of the best places to intern, ranking the railroad No. 33 on its annual list.
"We offer our interns real-world work experiences so they know what to expect from the company."
– Barb Schaefer, senior vice president-HR
The "Best Places to Intern: 2008" ranking is based on self-reported data from employers; the news magazine's "Best Places to Launch a Career" ranking, which earlier this year cited UP 39 on its top 50 list, and a Universum Communications survey of U.S. undergraduates.
"Union Pacific is dedicated to hiring top talent and our internship program is one of the ways we identify future employees," said Barb Schaefer, senior vice president-HR. "We offer our interns real-world work experiences so they know what to expect from the company. And, we can offer meaningful feedback in terms of their professional development."
