Engineering Department Recognizes Dana Hayden

January 25, 2008 | 09:06 a.m. CST

The Engineering Department has recognized Trackman Dana Hayden of System Gang 9160 as a World Class Employee. He and his work group are in charge of quality for the undercutter and ballast-dumping process.

"Mr. Hayden consistently takes on additional responsibilities and, in doing so, helps our work group," said Track Supervisor Gary Carnahan, who nominated Hayden for the award. "Others have noticed this and are beginning to follow in his footsteps."

"Mr. Hayden is a very positive-oriented employee who is liked and respected by his peers, supervisors and other work groups," said Carnahan. "He and his team reflect Union Pacific's can-do attitude."

Having six years' experience, Hayden serves on the safety committee and is a Peer Support team member. He also helps the safety captain ensure employees in the work group receive all their computer-based training each year.

World Class Employee award recipients are selected by a committee of Engineering Department program directors.
