El Paso Employees Celebrate by Giving

When El Paso Service Unit employees celebrated their "No. 1 in Safety" record for their region in 2008 with a barbecue, they used it as an opportunity to help others. Employees were asked to bring food donations to benefit the West Texas Food Bank, and they responded with full force.
The service unit collected 635 pounds of canned goods and more than $600 in cash. The donated food will feed 14 families in need, and the cash will be used to purchase food and other items through the Feeding America network.
Employees who contributed were eligible to win a number of Union Pacific items awarded through a raffle. The winners included John Cruz, Elmo Samaniego, G. Acosta, B. Setter, Ray Lerma, J. C. Enriquez, Louie Salcedo and Johnny Rivera.
