2009 BEN Conference Celebrates 30 Years

Union Pacific's Black Employee Network (BEN) is accepting registration for its 20th annual national conference on Aug. 27 and 28 in Omaha.
This year's conference, "Vision, Leadership and Service," will kick-off with a welcome reception hosted by Chairman Jim Young. A variety of workshops geared to enhance employees' personal and professional skills will follow. Workshops include:

- Healthy Choices – For Your Mind, Body and Soul
- Your 401K and this Economic Environment
- You be the Judge: EEO Cases from the Headlines
- Healthy Choices for Diversity and Inclusion

In addition, BEN invites employees to attend its pinnacle fundraising event, "A White Chocolate Affair," on Aug. 28. Proceeds benefit BEN's scholarship fund.

KCS Acquires Mexico Intermodal Facility

Kansas City Southern announced March 8 that it acquired the Puerta Mexico intermodal facility at Toluca in the State of Mexico. Later this month, Kansas City Southern de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) will add direct train service from Lazaro Cardenas to Puerta Mexico, providing Mexico City import and export shippers with a service alternative. More...
