November 6, 2009 | 12:45 p.m. CST
Since June 2008, Khaled Mabrouk has spent two hours each Saturday morning at Omaha's Open Door Mission Learning Center Computer Room. He provides technical support to individuals looking for jobs, developing computer skills, creating resumes or using e-mail.
"This is just a small part of what the Open Door Mission does to break the cycle of homelessness," said Mabrouk, general director-Continuous Improvement.
"Khaled is a wonderful, dedicated volunteer who we value greatly," said Cris Morris, volunteer coordinator. "We can always use more volunteers like him, especially during the upcoming holiday season."
UP in the Community highlights ways employees are donating their time and talents to make their communities better places to live and work. Employee organizations, work groups and individuals are invited to submit information on their community-service efforts.
