Employees Attend Congressional Hispanic Conference

Several employees recently represented Union Pacific at the 2009 Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's (CHCI) Public Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.
This year's conference, "Latinos Leading in a Global Society," gathered government officials and community and industry leaders nationwide to discuss key issues, including the economy, health care reform, immigration, education, workforce preparedness, energy and the green economy.
"Representing Union Pacific was an honor and an unbelievable experience," said Mark Montoya, senior instructor-Engineering. "As a group, we were able to share our experiences with the company and provide fellow participants with a more diverse look at Union Pacific Railroad."
A fundraiser celebrating Hispanic Heritage month concluded the conference, unifying the Hispanic American community, with financial contributions aimed at developing the next generation of Latino leaders.
